From Demo to Product

Fast demos are easy. Daily reliability is hard.

This post is about that shift.

The early phase

Our earliest prototypes proved one thing: multi-step automation works. But they also exposed the gap between "it runs" and "people rely on it every day."

The product direction changed once we focused on real usage patterns:

  • repeated tasks,
  • cross-tool coordination,
  • stable behavior over time.

What changed in product decisions

We stopped optimizing for flashy moments. We optimized for repeatable outcomes.

That meant prioritizing:

  1. Clear control states.
  2. Safe defaults.
  3. Predictable results.
  4. Low-friction setup.

Product principles we now use

  • A user should always know what can happen next.
  • High-power actions should be explicit, not surprising.
  • Background execution should stay visible and traceable.
  • New integrations should not increase cognitive load.

What this means in practice

Tentarc now focuses on:

  • one conversation thread across tools,
  • per-source permission boundaries,
  • reusable skills for team workflows,
  • stable long-running tasks.

The outcome we care about

Not the loudest demo. A product you can keep running through a full workday without second-guessing it.
